Here’s an Example of How to Add an Admin to Your Facebook Group
On my Facebook homepage, I see two options to get to the Facebook Group. You may only see one if you don’t have the group as a shortcut. If you do have it there, then click on that group name under shortcuts. Otherwise, hit Groups under the explore tab on the left-hand side.
Now that you’re in the Facebook Group, click Members on the left-hand side located in the menu that falls under your group name.
You’ll now see a screen like the one below. Here, you can choose to make a Moderator an Admin by clicking on the three dots next to their name. You can also remove Admins and Moderators this way as well.
If you need to find particular members then you use the search bar located above. This will bring up the person you’re looking to make or remove as an admin.
Please know that once you make someone an admin they can jump into your group setting and change anything they need about the Facebook Group. They can change the name of the community, location, description, and even add pages to the community. Moreover, they can change posting rules and survey questions people answer when requesting access.
How to Make Someone an Admin of a Facebook Group on Mobile
In this example, you want to open your Facebook mobile app, then click on the three lines on the bottom right-hand corner. You might see your Facebook Group listed at the top. If so, click on it there to get to your community. If not, then click on Groups.
If you click on Groups, you’ll see a list of your Facebook Groups. Select the one you own that you want to add another admin to.
Now click on the members’ pictures that are set in a row under your Facebook Group’s name.
This will take you to a list of your Facebook Group’s members. You can also search for specific people using Facebook’s search in the picture below. Once you find a profile, click on it. You’ll see this window popup below. Here, you can choose to make that member an Admin or a Moderator.
Wait Until You’re One Hundred Percent Ready
By giving someone admin powers you’re enabling them to kick-out members at will and change the group to how they see most beneficial. I recommend only making people you’ve known for quite some time admins of your community; otherwise, you may be making a big mistake. The last thing you want to end up doing is having to delete your Facebook Group after you’ve created it.
Keep in mind, Facebook is notorious for responding
However, more often than not, having another Facebook Group Admin can help you manage your community better. It relieves your time with many tasks like approving members and kicking them out. It’s well worth it for the right person.
